Chronic illness and Cancer care

When you are informed you have a chronic illness or cancer it isn’t just a medical diagnosis. It is an emotional and mental rollercoaster that impacts every aspect of your life. Many people don’t know how to talk about it and feel they have to be strong for their loved ones. You may be feeling lost, scared, numb or angry inside. You don’t have to carry your burden alone, at Roots of Tranquillity I offer an open safe space for you to be heard and supported in times of uncertainty.

I have worked in healthcare for many years, during which time I witnessed something profound. While medical care can be life-saving and essential, many people also long for gentle support that nurtures the whole person – body, mind and soul. That’s what led me to train as a complementary therapist. My goal isn’t to replace traditional medicine – it’s to work alongside it.

Coming from a clinical background has given me a deeper understanding of how the body works, how illness can impact every aspect of someone’s life and how important safety, consent and trust are in a therapy setting. In my complementary therapy practice I impart this medical knowledge with a holistic approach – helping people reconnect with themselves, restore balance and feel truly cared for in a different way.

Whether you're navigating unpleasant symptoms, stress, fatigue or simply feeling disconnected complementary therapies offer a gentle space to:

  • Feel grounded and supported
  • Release pent-up tension and anxiety
  • Reconnect with the body in a safe and healing way
  • Create moments of calm during uncertain times

I always make it clear complementary therapy is not a replacement for medical treatment, but it can be a beautiful addition to your wellness journey, especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed and emotionally drained.

Clients often tell me that they feel more relaxed, centred and more like themselves after a treatment. That to me is a powerful kind of healing.

I welcome anyone looking for restorative support whether you’re living with a chronic illness or recovering from a tough period in your life or simply craving a moment of peace.

My practice is client lead and tailored to your needs, you are always in control. I always offer a thorough assessment and if for any reason you cannot receive a particular treatment, I will offer an alternative suggestion.

If you are curious about what compliment therapy can offer or just want to chat about whether it’s right for you please reach out.
